Equality and Diversity
Universities, workplaces and their related projects are increasingly expected to promote equality
Universities members of project need to
•allocate resources equally between gender,
•obtain equal gender distribution in the recruitment
AND address the following goals:
Gender equal division of power and influence. Women and men are to have the same rights and opportunities to be active citizens and to shape the conditions for decision-making.
Economic gender equality. Women and men must have the same opportunities and conditions as regards paid work, which give economic independence throughout life.
Gender equal education. Women and men, girls and boys must have the same opportunities and conditions with regard to education, study options and personal development.
Gender equal distribution of unpaid housework and provision of care. Women and men must have the same responsibility for housework and have the opportunity to give and receive care on equal terms.
Gender equal health. Women and men, girls and boys must have the same conditions for a good health and be offered care on equal terms.
Men's violence against women must stop. Women and men, girls and boys, must have the same right and access to physical integrity.

Implement Common Basic Values
Employees have a responsibility to treat colleagues and students with respect and create a safe workplace and study environment:
Do I contribute to an inclusive culture at the workplace? If so, how?
Is there anything in my behavior that creates an exclusive workplace?
How do I talk about and to people at my workplace?
What is needed?
•Strong commitment and action is required from top management to create change.
•Investment in time and resources
•Knowledge of your own organisation
•Include equality and diversity in all activities
•Stamina – change takes time
